Ningbo Zhoushan Port Yongzhou Container Terminal welcomes the new "the Belt and Road" route again

2024-06-24

On the afternoon of June 19th, the first ship of the EWL Red Sea Line, the "Xiehai Dolphin", slowly docked at the Ningbo Zhoushan Port Yongzhou Container Terminal. Zhoushan Customs officers immediately handled the procedures for the entry and exit of ships and container inspection and release. The first ship of this new route will load 700 TEUs of household appliances, clothing and other goods from here and sail to Jeddah Port in Saudi Arabia.

"The newly opened EWL Red Sea Line is the 35th 'the Belt and Road' route to our terminal," said Le Lei, on duty manager of the Operation Department of Zhoushan Yongzhou Container Terminal Co., Ltd. "This will not only help enrich the terminal route network, but also further enhance our market competitiveness."

In order to ensure the smooth maiden voyage of the new route, Zhoushan Customs took the initiative to liaise with shipping companies and agents, understand the sailing dynamics of the maiden voyage, guide enterprises to make good use of convenient measures such as advance customs declaration, appointment clearance, and appointment inspection, and ensure "inspection upon arrival and release upon inspection". The first flight will operate on time and depart on schedule to ensure customs supervision and protection.

The opening of the EWL Red Sea Line this time provides a more convenient sea route for high-quality "Made in China" and also helps with the return of overseas empty containers. According to statistics, at present, Ningbo Zhoushan Port Yongzhou Container Terminal is attached to 35 "the Belt and Road" routes, connecting more than 60 major ports. From January to May, Zhoushan Customs supervised 295500 TEUs of export containers on the "the Belt and Road" route, up 15.1% year on year.
